The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Upscale Security Officer. In this position, you will be responsible for the physical security of the client's facilities and its surrounding grounds. You will also perform general security duties in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the client.

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct, investigate suspicious situations, conduct patrol tours

  • Communicate by use of Secure Trax , 2-way radios, telephones and computers

  • Maintain required certifications, licensing and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position

  • Complete required shift logs and reports; compliance with site post orders, G4S and client policies and procedures

  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards

  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons

  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles

  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits

  • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements

Job Requirements

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of California

  • Must be able to pass a state licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a California Operator's Driver's License or California Identification card

  • Must possess current and valid OC Pepper Spray certification issued by the state of California

  • Must possess a current and valid Permanent Expandable Baton certification issued by the state of California

  • Must have successfully completed a course in proper handcuffing techniques

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:

    • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard within the last five (5) years

    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets

    • Minimum of two years of verifiable and successful security experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).

  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

  • Upon acceptance of a job offer, must be able to pass the following:

    • Physical Exam

    • First Aid / CPR certification

    • O.C. / Pepper Spray certification

    • Permanent Expandable Baton certification

    • MMPI 2 Psychological testing

    • Must possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Firearms Permit issued by the State of California if assigned to an armed position
